- Un any més, atenent a les recomanacions internacionals per a les biblioteques, des de la Regidoria de Cultura de l'Ajuntament de la Vall d'Uixó i amb el suport de la Fundació Noves Sendes, volem escometre la realització d'aquest Pla Lector amb la intenció de fomentar l'hàbit lector i la comprensió lectora des de l'escola, implicant a tota la comunitat educativa i resta de la ciutadania.
- Juntament al foment de la lectura i l'alfabetització informacional, les biblioteques del segle XXI es deuen comprometre cada vegada més amb la societat, oferint-se com un punt de trobada multicultural, posant de manifest el seu compromís cívic. Cal recordar que sempre hem defensat "la lectura per si mateixa", ara bé si al mateix temps que llegim i ens divertim, reflexionem sobre la societat que ens envolta, doncs molt millor.
- Per al curs escolar 2008/2009 la nova proposta vol combinar una altra vegada lectura, escriptura i educació en valors, tractant els temes de la interculturalitat i de la solidaritat amb les cultures minoritàries. Des de fa un any la biblioteca municipal ofereix el servei de premsa estrangera i recopila en la Biblioteca Multicultural un fons bibliogràfic que reflecteix la diversitat de la nostra societat. D'aquesta manera pensem que contribuïm des de la lectura a millorar la cohesió social.
- L'intercanvi cultural amb una comunitat de la selva guatemalteca, és el fil conductor de la nostra nova proposta dirigida a les 12 Escoles d'Infantil i Primària de la localitat. En la nostra pàgina web trobaràs tota la información sobre el PROJECTE.
